It Finally Begins

It Finally Begins

I’ve been wanting to start my own book and review blog for as long as I can remember. I never had the confidence to since the early days when Xanga and Live Journal were popular amongst my middle and high school classmates.

Better late than never, right?

I’ve always had a love of books. I credit (and remember) that true love starting with my 7 year-old self becoming enthralled by the fantastic and magical world of Harry Potter. It’s all history since then.

As a student in high school, I was too busy to read more than a handful of books a year. I took AP English Language and AP English Literature my junior and senior year’s, respectively and I LOVED those classes because I could read works of literature as homework.

In college, my strenuous climb to a BFA degree in Graphic Design took a toll on me for 4 years and I wasn’t able to read as much as I liked. (All worth it in the end though - Summa Cum Laude!)

If I wasn’t so smitten with design, I would have gone into English studies in college. I have a creative mind and English, whether it be creative writing or just English literature studies, would have fulfilled that creative need.

My 2018 reading journey started when I promised myself I would set a reading goal on Goodreads and stick to it. I started with 30 books. When I realized I was quickly reaching that goal only 3 months in to the year, I upped it to 50. And then halfway throughout the year, I upped it to 60. I got this!
